Time is Ticking

The Statue of Liberty
Today has been one of the best weekend days I've had thus far. I got to go on a cruise through the Hudson River and saw the Statue of Liberty, the Freedom Tower, and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was very relaxing and I got to learn so much from the tour guide through the speakers. We were able to learn about the history of New York like where the name Manhattan came from and we also learned different fun facts about the city. I wish the sound would've been easier to hear when we were outside though because I missed a lot of information while I was outside taking pictures.
Freedom Tower and the Financial District
Our cruise lasted about two hours and after we finished, we decided to take a walk through the High Line Park, a renovated railroad that's now filled with flowers and beautiful street art. It's wonderful that someone could imagine to turn a beaten down railroad into something so gorgeous. New Yorkers seem so innovative and creative with everything they do. We even saw a guy that knew over forty Shakespeare monologues--it was the first time I'd ever seen an actor preform on the street for money.
Brooklyn Bridge
After we finished walking through the park, we went to an Italian restaurant called Serafina Meatpacking. I had Branzino for the first time and it was really good. And for desert, I had a creme brulee all to myself (Justin had to share his desert). Our waiters were nice and the dinner was wonderful. We talked about different things going on at Columbia over the next few days and we all joked around.
My desert. Yum!
It's weird to think that that was our last dinner together and we'll be going back to California in less than a week. I'm going to enjoy all the time I have left and make the most out of every moment. I'm a bit sad that I won't be able to see the friends  that I've made and the people I've been living with anymore, but I hope the bonds I've made will last a lifetime and we can stay in contact.

  1. Ahhhhh....I hadn't thought of it as our last dinner together! We'll have to have a nice breakfast together on Saturday morning before we leave.
