My first day of class was interesting. After a long morning
of unpacking and organizing my things I was ready to do something else. My
instructor is a man named Luke MacInnis. I think he used to be the T.A. for the
class but now he’s the new teacher. We went over the basics of American history.
It was all things that I knew; I just needed it to be refreshed in my memory.
In between classes, I got to go to the carnival
extravaganza. I signed up for zumba fitness, soccer, and theatre club. I have
no idea what to expect or when we actually get to participate in those things
but it seemed like a fun way to meet new people. I also got my henna done at
the carnival.
When I was walking to get my lunch Justin invited me to sit
with him and some of his friends that he met while “speed friending” during the
carnival. I met three girls, one from Kazakhstan, one from upstate New York,
and another from Houston, Texas. They were all really funny and welcoming. I
think that I’ve forgotten what it’s like to meet new people to some degree. I’ve
known everyone at school for so long that it just doesn’t have that excitement
anymore.
After my second session of class, I convinced Emily, Lisa,
Michelle, and Kendal to come with me on the R.A. trip to Times Square. I had
never seen Times Square before but I could tell you that if you haven’t seen it
yet, GO SEE IT!!! It was such an amazing experience to be surrounded by bright
lights, and the glitz and glam of New York. It’s not exactly how I imagined it,
but it was even better. Being there is not even something that I can capture in
words. : )
Well I hope you all like this blog : ) My new charger will
be coming in the mail soon so I should be getting those old pictures into the
blogs. Toodles
